CNIPO: China's intellectual property international exchanges and cooperation continue to deepen

On April 24, 2012, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the development of China's intellectual property rights in 2011. Tian Lipu, director of the State Intellectual Property Office, said at the press conference that in 2011, my country's intellectual property international exchanges and cooperation continued to deepen.

 

Tian Lipu introduced that in the field of intellectual property diplomacy, China and the United States signed the "China-US Intellectual Property Cooperation Project Framework Agreement". The Copyright Office, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly successfully bid for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Diplomatic Conference on the Protection of Audiovisual Performances. The Intellectual Property Office promotes the further internationalization of my country's patent documents and includes Chinese patent documents into the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) minimum document volume. The State Administration for Industry and Commerce signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation" with the African Intellectual Property Organization (AIPO) and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), and jointly launched the "China Trademark Gold Award" awarding activity with the World Intellectual Property Organization. The Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce formally joined the trilateral talks on trademarks of the United States, Japan and Europe.
