Deputy Commissioner of the Intellectual Property Office Led a Delegation to Visit the USPTO

A few days ago, He Zhimin, Deputy Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of China, led a delegation to the USPTO and held a bilateral meeting with Deputy Commissioner Russell Sleaf. Before the talks, Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office Li Daqiao (Michelle Lee) met with He Zhimin and his party.

He Zhimin said that the USPTO is an important partner of the State Intellectual Property Office of China, and the two sides have continued to carry out fruitful and friendly cooperation in document exchange, Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH), examination business exchanges, and automation. He hoped that the two bureaus will further expand and deepen bilateral cooperation on the basis of the new cooperation memorandum of understanding signed in May this year. Li Daqiao welcomed He Zhimin and his party to visit the bureau and thanked him for the warm reception during his visit to China. She spoke highly of the current cooperation results of the two bureaus and was willing to jointly create a new situation for the cooperation between the two bureaus.

He Zhimin and Russell Sreef conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as seminars jointly held by the two bureaus, PPH project promotion, automation expert exchanges, and data supplementation in the medical field, and reached a number of consensuses.

After the talks, He Zhimin and his entourage also visited the US Attorney SIPO Liaison Committee. The two sides exchanged views on the latest revisions of patent laws and related regulations in China and the United States, and discussed mechanisms to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
