On January 19, 2026, under the guidance of the Intellectual Property Office of Guangzhou Development District, the Intellectual Property Youth Talent Development Camp was officially launched at Guangzhou College of Commerce. The program was hosted by the China Intellectual Property Training Center (Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City Practice Base) and organized by IPR Daily.

With the theme “Embracing an Innovative Future: Intellectual Property and Career Development of Young Talents,” the five-day program aims to provide young professionals with a structured, immersive, and forward-looking platform for learning and practical engagement in the field of intellectual property. Young participants from across China, together with IP experts, corporate representatives, and leaders from the organizing and supporting institutions, attended the opening ceremony.
The opening event was attended by Ms. Wu Hongfei, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Office of Guangzhou Development District; Professor Tang Xi, Executive Dean of the Law School of Guangzhou College of Commerce; and Mr. Zhou Peng, Founder and Chairman of IPR Daily, all of whom delivered speeches.
In her remarks, Ms. Wu Hongfei noted that Guangzhou Development District, as a core engine of technological innovation in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and a pioneer in intellectual property development, has consistently regarded IP talent cultivation as a key pillar in implementing China’s national IP strategy and promoting high-quality development. She emphasized that Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District are continuously improving their IP service systems and optimizing the talent development ecosystem, and warmly welcomed young IP professionals to establish and grow their careers in the region, achieving a “two-way journey” of personal growth and regional development.
Professor Tang Xi, speaking on behalf of the university, expressed strong support for the program. He emphasized that the growth of young professionals requires not only the support of high-quality platforms, but also an active mindset of exploration and engagement. He encouraged participants to fully immerse themselves in the program, actively exchange ideas, broaden their perspectives, and identify their career paths through the integration of theory and practice.
In his opening address, Mr. Zhou Peng stated that the Development Camp is not merely a training program, but rather a bridge connecting knowledge with opportunity, a platform integrating theory and practice, a relay for mentorship and co-creation, and a window into both present challenges and future prospects. He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the intensive and diverse curriculum and activities over the five days to gain a comprehensive understanding of the multiple career pathways within the intellectual property field, master cutting-edge tools and methodologies, and cultivate a sense of innovation through close interaction with industry mentors. He further expressed his hope that the participants would use this program as a springboard to grow into IP professionals with global vision, strong expertise, and innovative spirit, contributing youthful momentum to the continued development of China’s intellectual property sector.
It is reported that the curriculum of the Development Camp covers a wide range of modules, including fundamental IP knowledge, hands-on information retrieval, corporate site visits, discussions on frontier challenges, and achievement presentations. The program brings together expert mentors from academia, industry, and IP service organizations, helping young participants build a systematic knowledge framework, strengthen their confidence in career development, and cultivate a strong reserve of talent for the intellectual property career in the Greater Bay Area and across China.
The opening ceremony concluded successfully amid lively communication and dynamic intellectual exchange. The launch of this Development Camp represents an important initiative by Guangzhou Development District to deepen the cultivation of young IP talents and optimize the regional talent ecosystem, while also providing young professionals with a high-level, well-connected empowerment platform to contribute to high-quality development.
