    Patent Data Survey 2016: China Enjoys High Rate in Patent Use

    The 2016 China Patent Data Report was based on a survey covering companies, universities, research institutions and individual inventors in 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. About 58,000 questionnaires were sent and more than 70 percent of them were returned correctly.

    SIPO and WIPO Signed IP Cooperation Agreement to strengthen the Belt & Road

    On May 14, 2017 at the “The Belt and Road” International Cooperation Summit Forum in Beijing, SIPO director and WIPO Director-General signed “IP Cooperation Agreement for strengthening the Belt & Road”. This is the first Belt & Road related IP cooperation agreement signed by the Chinese government with international organizations, marking the two sides will carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation to promote IP development among the countries and regions round Belt & Road.

    China’s Copyright Registrations Break 2 Millions

    A total of 2.0077 million copyrights were registered in 2016, an increase of 22.33%, hitting a record new high, sources from the National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC) said recently. Among the 2.0077 million copyrights, 1.6 million of which were works, an increase of 18.63%, 400,000 of which were computer softwares, up 39.48%.
